Environmental protection
The love of the craft and responsibility for the environment are two sides of the same coin at Ölz. In an age in which protecting the environment is becoming increasingly important, we are actively committed to minimising our ecological footprint. With this in mind, we have taken numerous steps to produce more sustainably and conserve resources.
Green electricity
By opting for green electricity, we have chosen energy that is generated locally and sustainably. Vorarlberg green electricity is 100% renewable energy, most of which is generated from hydropower – without any carbon emissions.
Heat recovery
The Ölz heat recovery sustainability project can save around 245 tonnes of CO2 each year.The recovered heat is fed into the company’s existing heating network and therefore used twice.
WWF Earth Hour
We support the WWF campaign for clear and binding climate targets! Electric lighting – a self-evident part of our everyday lives. But also an area in which we want to make a responsible contribution.
Palm oil - RSPO membership
As part of our internal working group for sustainability, Ölz der Meisterbäcker has been addressing the issue of palm oil for several years . The majority of fats used by Ölz, more than 80% in fact, are liquid vegetable oils as well as butter. Ölz has been a member of RSPO since 2014.
Actively preventing food waste
Reflecting our commitment to sustainability, we take active measures at Meisterbäcker to prevent food waste. We deliberately engage in green initiatives, not only to minimise waste but also to contribute actively to protecting our environment and preserving resources.
klimaaktiv Pakt partners
Ölz der Meisterbäcker is an official partner of the klimaaktiv pakt2030. In this way, we are continuing and building upon the successful activities in the field of energy efficiency from the klimaaktiv Pakt2020.
