Ölz mobility concept

The current fleet of lorries operated by Ölz Frischdienst comprises around 200 vehicles that deliver high-quality baked goods to customers throughout Austria every day. Equipped with modern Euro VI engines and fuelled with the innovative biofuel HVO100, they make an important contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions.

HVO100 (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil) is a certified fuel that is made from 100% renewable raw materials such as used cooking oil, vegetable oils and other waste materials. It enables greenhouse gas savings of up to 90 % compared to conventional diesel.

With the ‘Second Life’ project, Ölz is pursuing a sustainable recycling concept for end-of-life lorries. Instead of simply discarding old vehicles, we give them a new purpose: the majority of the fleet is sold on to a partner who professionally overhauls the lorries and converts them for new uses such as tippers or crane vehicles.

In this way, we extend the life cycle of the vehicles, conserve resources and reduce waste - another component of our holistic sustainability strategy.

Ölz der Meisterbäcker is consistently focussing on electromobility in urban and regional transport. More and more vans and cars are being converted to fully electric drives in order to significantly reduce emissions and make an active contribution to climate protection.

Technological developments are continuously monitored to ensure a complete switch to emission-free vehicles and the fleet is gradually being adapted to the requirements of a sustainable future.

Alternative mobility solutions are an important part of our mobility concept. For example, we use electronic cargo bikes - ideal for short internal journeys.

We also support our employees: With the job bike model, bikes can be leased and used both professionally and privately. In this way, we not only promote climate-friendly mobility, but also health and exercise in everyday life.
